signing away...

i received a phone call this past tuesday from the representative in the total loss department. seems that my first love (carwise) has been totalled. she will never be driven again. well. at least not by me. sad part is...that car was so well maintained and in top shape for her 145,000 miles of road she drove. i must say...i am happy that the 150,000 mile tune-up i planned on scheduling in the next month wasn't done any sooner than my procrastination would allow. (i would have dumped approximately $1500 into that round of maintenance...mitsubishis need timing belts every 60,000 miles and hers was last replaced at 80,000...the belt work alone would have cost $800.) she was also in need of a tranny flush and all that other stuff i know little or nothing next to...anyone seeing me online on gmail lately would see my caption is..."3000 dollars? it's not even leatha!" (name that movie) but...that is what ol'girl netted for her salvage. the check is only a signature away. the title that i made 100% mine almost a year ago is now in the hands of safeco. i hate insurance companies. well, except my insurance company. i heart my insurance!

sad, i know. but, maybe now i can realistically start on my back piece! the time estimate is 20-30 hours at $100 an hour. so, i'm looking at roughly 2-3 grand of ink. more specifically, a 2-3 grand koi. ouch.
