"...uh..."

so...how crappy of me to not post an update immediately after stella's surgery? the surgery went very well and picking her up thursday night was so hilarious! she was so drugged up! i know she wanted to show her excitement that i was there to pick her up...but all she could do was wag her tail! that first night had to be the hardest for her. she cried all night, poor thing! well, up until she figured the cast had to go...she started chewing at the foot portion of her cast and bits of purple were all over her bed. she only tore at an inch portion. and yes...her cast is purple! so, to remedy the problem that night...i put a large sock over her cast and she's left it alone ever since. i guess no need to embarass her with an e-collar now. it was going to resort to that if the sock didn't work! and now...well, she's pretty used to the cast. it's hilarious to watch her go to the bathroom! she's had to readjust her stance by using her three good legs in a tripod effect. the process will be long...she gets her cast reapplied thursday....i guess they change the angulation of the knee. her leg is pretty straight right now. i guess we'll see what happens thursday!

one of my friends...mai...her last blog post was about a guy she passed on the street commenting how beautiful she is...funny, same kinda sorta thing happened to me on saturday morning after breakfast at uncle bill's with ETB. of all places, i was at the dollar tree just killing time. as i started to leave, an older (maybe in his 60's) black man says hello to me. and then in a loud whisper...if such a thing exists...he says, "damn, you are sexy." of course, when i told the story at knitting...the first question was if i was in my scrubs. nay. no one looks sexy in scrubs. well, i take that back. all the hot actors ("i'm not a doctor in real life, but i play one on television") look ridiculously sexy in scrubs. how does that happen? anyway. once again. nay. i don't look hot in scrubs. and it was saturday, so i figured...what the hell? i'm not working today. why not wear some real clothes? so, i was wearing a true fit baby polo-pink, jeans, and brown flip-flops. the bonus? i had painted my toes earlier that morning...if anyone that knows me, knows me...they know i usually never paint my toes. but i was feeling...adventurous! and like mai...as unattractive as this man was to me...it still put a little pep in my step. it takes balls to say those kind of things! funny that my comment back to him...the only thing i could think to reply...was..."uh..."
