it comes..it goes...

so, new developments...i was out walking stella and izzy last night...stella has free roaming privileges, izzy has to be on a leash. stella was running around, sniffing, etc. all of a sudden, she yelps and comes running to me, limping and no longer using her hind left leg. i had her scheduled for xrays this saturday...doctor thought she may have started developing hip dysplasia. come to find out after todays exam (rescheduled this morning from saturday to today) that her ccl (cranial cruciate ligament-equivalent to the acl of a human) was probably slowly deteriorating and while running last night, ruptured it. so, surgery is now the consideration. right under $1000. yikes! i know. but, she is my baby...my love...and i can't say no, nor should i. to all who have heard me talk about quitting the coffeeshop...i now say "nay, i need to keep working, if not more, to make a bit of extra income." so, that was the bit from today.

in past news...my trip to dekalb was so wonderful! yes, i know i haven't updated in about two weeks...the mamm conference at the ozarks was a good time...brook, missy, tiffany and i all had a great time-with the exception of a few truths spoken during our drunken saturday night through sunday morning outing! i'm not one to go into details on such a public display of my private life...but those who know me and are my friends, know or can find out the details.

so, i was gone last weekend and this past weekend. i know...i'm making a habit of running away and i really should be staying home more often. back to dekalb...my sister and i had a great time together. funny thing is we never have to do anything special to have fun. we talked, snacked, had wonderful tea (although i scalded my hand!), i met her new man, we all went out saturday night and yes, drunkeness ensued again...sunday, a much needed trip to the egg harbor cafe...most delicious breakfast in the world! my time there was coming to a close and i was not looking forward to leaving. we said our goodbyes...long and drawn out, as usual. she sang to me. i cried. i laughed. i cried and laughed some more...at the same time. when i finally took off, i wished i had more time with her. two hours into my trip i was a few miles north of springfield and had to take cover at a starbucks (exit 98b off 55). a tornado (or several, actually) were headed straight my way!!! so, the store was locked up once the sirens went off and i (with 7 other patrons) took shelter in the bathrooms while the employees took shelter in the storage room. i stayed there for an hour and a half. at ten minutes to seven, i took off for home once more. believe it or not, i was home by eight! crazy! i left at three thirty, had an hour and a half detour and was home by eight!!! i'll say it was tailwinds! hehe! more like me booking it at 90-100 mph! now...well, i can't wait for the next opportunity to visit. i love my sister so very much!
