28. but who's counting?

those that know me, know my obsession with orchids. i only wish i could grow them. i have a green thumb. it's just not very tropical. and definitely not that skilled. maybe one day, when i'm old and retired. like the minority report. wasn't it that movie that had the old lady with the greenhouse? so, anyway...as you can see...these flowers are breathtaking! the orchid show is one of my favorite events to attend in st.louis. and of course, it happens from the end of january through the beginning of march. so what better way for me to celebrate my birthday than treating myself to high tea at the ritz carlton and a trip to the botanical gardens for intense viewing pleasure of these beauties. and don't be fooled. the ones you see are just a few of my faves. i was a maniac with the camera. no kidding, i took a picture of every specimen there! i was probably as annoying as a round-the-neck-camera-toting-japanese-tourist. honestly. have you seen such beauty today?
