wine me a river

i'm horrible. i went to trader joe's sunday...i know. what's new, right? and spent a third of my grocery bill on this...

not bad. 2 vintage 2005 fetzer gewurz ...they're delicious. and cheap. a 2005 alice white lexia. we'll see. a bogle. already drank it so...don't know the year. but it was a petite sirah. angel and i drank it while watching dane cook on hbo the other night! a 2003 columbia crest two vines shiraz. columbia crest is nothing to shake a grapeleaf at...but the description made this wine sound wonderful. again. the price made the deal even sweeter. the last...a 2004 concannon limited release petite sirah. i am told this is an excellent bottle of wine. these six bottles of wine cost $50!!! savings made possible by trader joe's. love that place!!!

last night, i had a marketing research study that i elected to participate in...it was for a new barium product. don't worry...i won't go into anymore detail! (wow, raquel, that's a first!!!) anyhoo...for 30 minutes of my precious time, they rewarded me with a cash envelope. $75! so. of course. i had ideas for that money. wine! i apparently didn't buy enough on sunday. so, i asked angel if he wanted to tag along and we would hit pho grand and 33 on the way home. what a great idea!!! at pho grand, i had chopped rice with grilled porkchop, fried egg and egg cake. ohmy. how amazing! after dinner, a quick stop at 33 yielded me 2 more bottles of wine. a 2003 rutz cellars chardonnay...buttery deliciousness. and a wine for a veryveryvery special occasion, one tested and approved by "sexual harrasment saturday group," an amazing wine...it's a 2002 joseph estate "la magia" botrytis riesling traminer. in plain english, this is a wine made from grapes that have succumbed to "noble rot." in a condensed explanation...the grape for this wine is struck by a fungus only when conditions are perfect (so very rare) and once on the grape, it removes the moisture from the fruit. after sometime, the moistureless grape is harvested and turned into one of the best dessert wines ever. seriously. it brought tears to my eyes. i'm saving this. i don't know for what occasion. but a special one.

I can beat that I go to Trader Joes (and Cost Plus) and buy a ton of wine and candy or cookies. So I got a few vices.
